COLONEL (RETIRED) MD ABDUN NOOR

Colonel (retired) Md Abdun Noor served in Bangladesh Army for nearly 30 years.

Colonel (retired) Md Abdun Noor served in Bangladesh Army for nearly 30 years. During his tour of duty, he served in various capacities in the Corps of Signal and earned expertise in ICT and in he served as a Sector Commander & Deputy Director General (Communication) at the Border Guard Bangladesh. He is a UN peacekeeper and worked as the Telecomm & ICT Planning Officer at United Nation’s Peace Mission at Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast (February 2002 to March 2003 and April 2011 to May 2012). Among many of his accomplishments, he established and implemented an independent “Data Centre” for Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at Headquarters; implemented data and voice connectivity all along Border of Bangladesh for BGB; planned and implemented all Information and Communication Technology (ICT) related affairs for Border Guard Bangladesh; integrated Radio Communication with Data/ICT network of BGB HQ with all it’s countrywide under command forces; planned and implemented Smart Border Management System for BGB where border activities can be monitored and controlled from HQ; and implemented Microwave Communication for Bangladesh Army from it’s HQ to all division HQs including Chattogram Hill Tracts.
